Family Tour Guides...

We are privileged to do a lot as a family living where we do. Though with 2 small kids (and a smaller one on the way) getting to go everywhere as a family when Guests come from the states is a real treat. We had juuuuust enough room in our van for each tourist and each Rivers to fit.  And since we just moved to a new area, it was really fun seeing some new sights. The group from Florida were real troopers as we took them thither and yon and made them all eat funky stuff.

For pictures of more "Isaac & Isaiah" centered moments see their blog

Begin photog recap now... (with a heavy emphasis on the island we'd never been to...)
Tour of Sikh Temple...
Standing not very still in front of the really old oven where delicious banana bread is baked...
What it looks like when you eat and get drinks near the end of Asia. In case you were wondering.
What it looks like when you try to chase mud-fish in a mangrove swamp...which is a lot like what happens when you try to get out just a litttttle bit farther to take pics of the beach...

Brave brave souls and the King of Fruits...
...End of Continental Asia...

I think the planking photos were originally suggested to mock all the planking on facebook.  Then the Rivers boys brought their A-Game in Singapore and it was on from then on...

Merlion Plank. (Mr. A actually has the better picture of this) also Singapore.

What the Rivers' boys look like at a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cute. Though it isn't Isaac's norm to hug plants.

Really old famous church in Melaka.
Really really awesome bed & breakfast in a village on the coast of the South China Sea. We all could have stayed another night or two there!
... the b&b was our jumping off point to visit an island for a day.  This is what the Rivers boys look like climbing on our guests from Florida.  We were on a ferry out to the island so the guests couldn't escape:)
just a wee bit pretty.
...just a wee bit stinkin' excited to be there...
It's just hard not to take pics next to blue water like that...
...or IN the water...
So am I the only one that cares that I don't look pregnant in this photo? Or is everyone looking at the straight-from-a-post-card scenery instead? Or the 2 gorgeous girls in the photo with me? ...
The water was like a magnet for cameras. Kaylee and Nadia were both thrilled at having their beach-tired pictures taken with the blue water:)
The local departure phrase, translated, is "Meet Again!" Hope we do beautiful little island!
So glad Kaylee got to see so much of our beautiful slice of paradise! I'm sure these gorgeous views will help her find her happy place when the Rivers boys are driving her crazy!

The plank that wasn't.  Such a shame too. But we're fairly sure we would have gotten in trouble with the local authorities when our planking broke the tea cup. We salute you unplankable cup.
And that about wraps it up! If you're interested in seeing our part of the world, let us know!

Wow. That island is amazingly beautiful. It reminds me of a Survivor episode. :) Shannon recently introduced me to planking. I'm pretty sure your boys' photo is the best I've seen.
