The first room in our house is finally complete!
I realize these pics are slow in coming and the 7 or so of you who cared at one point might have dwindled...but here they are nonetheless!
A reminder of the before... geometry and half-blue walls...

From doorway. (one of the big problems with this room is the hot morning sun coming in the big window and the hot afternoon sun coming in the little one...we think we fixed it;) |

...in corner with small window looking towards bathroom (standing on Zay's bed:) I wanted a bigger rug for their room but the "Lightning McQueen" rug was given to them by the childcare workers in Bali. Free is free and the boys love it! |

Personalized art work... |
|
...and the reason we did it all! :) These two sweet boys! |
I will do a "The Making of..." posts for
1. The curtains (well, the valances)
2. The framed artwork
3. The toy shelf
The valance is the only thing with actual "steps" to it, but my husband, the boys, our neighbors, and Kaylee all helped make the room happen, so I want to give credit where credit is due. For now enjoy the done-ness!

SERIOUSLY cute!! great job!! love the personalized artwork and the matching quilts! So this is making me realize that one day I'm going to want matching quilts for my boys' room and that means...uh...what do I do with the homemade one I have for salem?!? :)
great job!!
I really like the colors you used for the boys' room... and the way the bed frames / night stand matches the grating on the windows! So fun!
Love it! It is perfect for your boys! What fun they will have in that room:)
Great job, team.
I love it! I really like their quilts and their toy shelf. I think Asher might hurt somebody for that Lightning McQueen rug. The boy is obsessed.
Wow that looks AWESOME!! If decorating where you are can be as difficult as it was in India, then I am even MORE impressed. I love those colors, too!
Hello Pottery Barn! You did a fabulous job on their room. I have been wanting to put up some personalized art in the boys' room, sure wish I was home to get on that :) Did you bring your quilts from the US?? I have been waiting to buy the boys quilts cause I wasn't able to find what I wanted at IKEA.
LOVE IT! So cute!!!!
Is that "Uno Moo" on your shelf??
Very cute!
Everything looks perfect! I really like the "punch" the toy shelf brings to the room. And those quilts sure have been one of your best investments! I'm curious to see if Immanuelle's room gets the next make-over or if the "rents" room does. My money is on the baby's room. BTW- I used some of the IKEA skills I learned at your house this summer putting your sister's new kitchen table together. :-)
Everything is so cute. You are quite the decorator. I love all the colors you picked. Hope you're feeling good. Take care of yourself and don't work too hard.
